My first mission trip.

When I had first realized that something like this was going to be possible, I had a couple different ideas of what I wanted to do; a cross country road trip or a missions trip, you know, to some place like Africa, or just about any third world country...and the night I got my confirmation, about me going on the trip I'm on, I remember, I was told, "you should see your own country before seeing other countries" and that really stuck with me, it just felt right, and so, I headed out on the open road. What I didn't realize, was that I actually WAS going on a missions trip, for me. To heal me, re-energize me and save me, in a way...

When anyone asked me why I was doing this I would always say, "it's a self discovery trip" I hadnt known at the time that it was actually going to be a self discovery trip, and so much more. So much has happened on the inside that I never imagined would. I'm learning so much more about myself and our world than I ever fathomed I would, and it's so amazing to me. The change that's happening to me, and other people that read this blog is such a blessing, and turned out to be much bigger than I ever thought it would.
It's a mission trip.
I've had people from all over, people that I never thought this would get to, or affect, call me, or email me telling me that reading my blog and keeping up with my trip has inspired them, and given them the confidence to do things they were too scared to, or to get out of a bad relationship, start writing again and sooo many other things. this trip has turned into something big. It's changing peoples lives, it's altering peoples perspectives, their minds, their dreams...
When I first set out on this trip, I thought it was just gonna be a fun little jaunt across country.
Nope, I guess God had bigger plans for it :)
It makes me feel really good knowing that not only do I get an incredible, life-changing experience from this, but other people are as well, I didn't plan on it, or even try to make it happen this way. It was God, it was his purpose, and his will. He really has a way of working in, and through peoples lives and for me, it is seriously astounding to see the blessings that come from Gods work :)
