Look Up!

Yesterday we went fishing. This place was on the base too and it was so incredibly peaceful. Green everywhere, white sand, warm water. Just standing there on the bank, watching the water, the bugs dance and the sun sink behind the trees. ..

At one point I took a walk by myself to explore. I was watching the ground, the sand, stopping to look at all the little anthills...when I looked up after awhile and realized, I had gone a lot farther than I expected. And it made me think. In life we do that. We are so focused on not tripping, watching out for rocks, looking at our feet until we finally look up and realize we are lost. It's almost as if we get stuck in this rut. This routine, and it's comfortable for us so we don't make any effort to get out of it. Well I say,
LOOK UP!
Where are you? But most importantly, Who are you? Who have you become? Do you like what you see?

Every once in awhile we must look up,, look around. Stop what we are doing for a second and take a step back and assess the situation. We all deserve to live the life we were created for. Don't let familiarity, fear, or discouragement push into a rut. Go forth and be you!

I have faith that deep down we all know the right, in our hearts. We know the answer. A lot of times we try to play dumb with ourselves or justify things but deep down, we know.
It is so very important for us to be exactly where God wants us to be. Not a little to the left, or with that guy that things "could" work out...RIGHT where God wants us. And when we get positioned exactly right...it is such a beautiful thing. Trust me., it's literally like a dream coming true. To be in a position where we dont have to put our stinky, worldy hands into it to try and do what we think is best for us, and just letting God do his thing...knowing that it's exactly right, to me, is the best feeling in the world. Oh and you'll know when you're positioned right. Everything will start falling into place, the puzzle peices will start fitting perfectly in place, everything will just feel right. And you will be happy. So happy, the kind of happy that you can't find out there, in the world, without God.

I also think that we tend lose sight of those things and people important to us. When we are just livin' our lives. We tend to lose contact. And we shouldnt' let ourselves get to that place either. I know it's hard when we have tons of things going on, jobs, relationships, church, distance...

Think about those people that mean a lot to you, or the things in your life that make you, you. And try and figure out a way to prioritize your life in such a way to let those things shine. If you don't, if you think, "oh, they'll always be there" or, "that person will always be in my life." Think again. You might lose that person, or lose sight of that thing that makes up who you are and you don't want to look back and regret anything.
So take the time to send a text, an email, or even a 10 minute phone call. It will mean the world to that person, and it will be nourishing to your relationship.

  2. But did you catch any dang fish? Or are you just lolly-gaggin down the little path, marveling at life's twisty-turny nature, and watching the ant races?! (Gpa Gene would be proud!) :>
