In honor of Mothers Day.

Mothers day. Seems like just another day, usually it's sunny and warm, most people have BBQ's and mom gets a card or two, maybe breakfast in bed...but it's Mothers Day.

It should be treated like the most important day of the year. Mothers are the strongest, most loving, caring, giving people we have. Look back and think of everything you put your mother through...I'll give you a minute ;)

Now think about how no matter what you put her through, or what she's been through...how strong she was, and how through everything she loved unconditionally, took care of you, was there for you...

Whether your mom is a stage mom, a 'best friend' mom, a country mom, one of those "can I get you anything" every 10 seconds moms, or an all of the above mom, they are all special, and they were made each one of our mothers for a reason. They may embarrass us, make us mad, or annoy us at times, but they are our moms, they love us and we love them. It's a special kind of love, and we need to cherish that and honor that as much as we can because one day, they might not be in our lives.

I know that it's taken quite a few years for my mom and I to get where we are, friends. Best friends in fact. And you know, there is a difference between love, and like. and When you find that place where you like your mom, as well as love her, it's a beautiful place.
I remember on the day that I set out on this adventure she hugged me, with tears in her eyes, and said, "I like you." you can imagine the tears, and emotion in that atmosphere.

My mom, words cannot explain how much my mom means to me. She is my world. She is the most amazing woman I have ever met, and I am truly honored to be her daughter. She has inspired me and helped me in more ways than I can remember. She is strong, smart, funny, real, and just an all around good hearted person. My mom and I have been through alot in my lifetime, which made us stronger, and closer. She is my best friend.
I wouldn't have been able to go on this trip, the right way anyway, without her and the amazing support she gives me. I feel sad to be this far away from her on mothers day. I miss my mom! :)
Another thing that I feel so grateful about, is how she's always let me spread my wings, be who I am. She's been one of the biggest helps in bringing Reilly back. The happy girl. Thank you mom. I wish I could do so much more for her, in honor of mothers day, and to thank her immensely.
I like you mom

  2. Reilly,
No one else will ever understand the challenges we've had in making it this far in the restoration of our relationship. It's definitely been the hardest thing either one of us has accomplished in our lives so far (except, I suppose, when I actually gave birth to you!) and its taken so long to make it this far. But it just goes to show how 2 people that want something very badly, and go about it God's way will always succeed! I am very proud of us.
Think of planting a flower. You watch it grow for so long; day after day, after day...
then it finally produces a bud! And as you pay attention, checking it each day, in an instant it just seems to explode with color and fragrance and beauty! That's how I feel about you.
    I like you too.
    Mom
